Hope you’re feeling ready to take on the world with your new blog! So, let’s get to it. Here are the five steps every beginner blogger needs to take to set up solid foundations.
Step 1: Choose Your Niche
Firstly you need to figure out what topic your blog will revolve around, and most of you probably already know. For those of you who’re not yet sure, this can be anything from health and fitness, education, DIY etc. Top tip: try and make it as specific as possible – this will make your life easier in the future.

Step 2: Set Up Your Platform
Once you’ve chosen a niche, it’s time to pick a domain name (this is what shows up in your URL e.g. for us it’s gopssv.com) and set up your website that will function as the platform for your blog and online business.
You can use the search box below to check if your domain name is available or not.
Step 3: Choose Products To Promote
Once you’ve got your topic and blog set up, it’s time to start thinking about what products or services would add value to those interested in that topic. It always works best if they’re products you know well and are passionate about, as that way you can wholeheartedly recommend them to your followers.
Step 4: Create Content
This is the part we all blog for. We enjoy sharing stuff we find interesting and exciting with others. Here it’s all about finding your voice, and creating content that is relevant and adds value to your followers.
Step 5: Drive Traffic To Your Content
Driving traffic (that is people who will eventually become your raving fans and paying customers) to your content is a pretty complex topic with a multitude of considerations, from choosing your platform (e.g. Facebook, Pinterest, Email etc.) through identifying your target audience to creating compelling sales copy and ad creative to name a few.
If you do these five steps in this order, you’ll have pretty solid foundations for your blog. Before you get cracking though, have a little think: are you going to be a “passion blogger” or a “commercial blogger”? Read the full article here.
